This ‘Redemption Road’ Early Access update ( Steam / Epic Games Store) revamps and reworks the map traversal systems of the game to add strategic depth and also streamline controls. The basic configuration of 4 heroes/4 monsters and two trinkets per hero is still true, but there have been significant changes to the base mechanics, stats, and so on. It will be arduous.ĭarkest Dungeon II is a loving interpretation of the game’s signature style in 3D, with hand-drawn textures, bringing more life to the characters and amp up the fx, while preserving the classic DD combat presentation. Thankfully it also supports cross-save.Darkest Dungeon II will test your mettle and drive you to the brink of madness.Īrmor yourself with purpose and provision your party for the journey ahead. It's not a deal-breaker, I really like the game, but I may end up playing most of it on PS4. Other than that, the VITA version runs nicely, loading times are ok, the text can be a bit small on the descritpions, if you don't have the best eyesight, you should take that into a consideration before you buy. I wish they would patch the option to turn that damn thing off. I have never had a big problem with any other game, sometimes it can be annoying but here it's just terrible. Even the lightest touch will change what is on your screen. Man, WHYYY? It splits the panel into half and touching either of those will, in most cases, scroll through your selected hero. The biggest problem is the implementation of the back-touch panel. But ofc in time that will just became more smooth, I hope. Makes simple act of looking at your heroes while assembling a team a proper chore for example. To highligt anything you have to HOLD either L or R while moving the cursor and pressing square or X or what have you. Played some today (as the toppic suggest! on the portable console) and man, the controls are quite complicated. This game have been on my radar for a long time, when it popped up on PSN store as a discounted pre-order, cross buy for PS4 and VITA, I decided to jump in.
